  • David K. Flynn

    President, Chief Executive Officer

    • David Flynn has served as Chair of our Board since July 2013, as a member of our Board since July 2006, as our Chief Executive Officer since July 2007 and as President since November 2007. He previously served as our Interim Chief Executive Officer from February 2007 to July 2007. Prior to joining us, Mr. Flynn was with Juniper Networks until 2005. He joined Juniper in April 2004 through its acquisition of NetScreen Technologies, where he had served as Vice President of Marketing since June 1999. Mr. Flynn holds a B.A. in Economics from Williams College and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

  • Steve Debenham

    Vice President of Legal Services

    • Steve Debenham has served as our Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary since December 2012. Prior to joining us, Mr. Debenham served as Vice President, Corporate Development, General Counsel and Secretary at Silicor Materials Inc., a manufacturer of solar-grade silicon and aluminum products, from August 2010 to December 2012. From September 2009 to December 2012, he provided advisory services and legal counsel to several privately held companies. From September 2003 to September 2009, Mr. Debenham served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Asyst Technologies, Inc., a semiconductor equipment manufacturer. Previously, Mr. Debenham was a partner in a San Francisco Bay Area law firm, focusing on intellectual property litigation. Mr. Debenham holds an A.B. in History from Stanford University and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.

  • Raphaël Gernez

    Senior Vice President, Operations

    • Raphaël Gernez brings to Aerohive more than 20 years of supply chain experience in leading Operational Excellence in competitive businesses (Consumer PC, Flat Panel TV, e-reader, Solar). Mr. Gernez came from SunPower, where, as VP Global Sourcing and Purchasing, he and his team achieved up to 35% cost reduction on components by building world class processes for vendor management and cost reduction. As VP, Product Supply Chain at Plastic Logic (e-reader product), Mr. Gernez reduced the COGS by 30% by implementing and managing outsourcing business models (Taiwan and China). Prior to Plastic Logic, Mr. Gernez spent 19 years at Hewlett-Packard where he was General Manager of the HP Flat Panel TV global business unit, growing the business from zero to $120M revenue. Previously, Mr. Gernez held many senior positions in the HP Consumer PC group where he helped grow the business from inception to the global market share leader. Mr. Gernez holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Design and Manufacturing) from Ecole Centrale in Nantes, France.

  • Gareth Green

    General Manager, International

    • Gareth Green has over 18 years of experience in the networking industry in EMEA. Before joining Aerohive, Mr. Green was the VP EMEA for Network Engines, where he was responsible for sales, channels and strategic partner alliances in the region. Prior to Network Engines, Mr. Green served as VP Enterprise for Juniper Networks, Inc. through its acquisition of NetScreen Networks. During the six year period Mr. Green spent as VP EMEA, he was responsible for the strategies and development of the entire NetScreen EMEA business. Mr. Green helped establish NetScreen as a key network security vendor in the EMEA marketplace, taking the company from an unknown start-up to revenues in excess of $120 million. Prior to NetScreen, Mr. Green was a co-founder and director of Congress Communications, a European-based start-up incubator taking U.S. companies into EMEA, and worked with over 20 companies, including Ipswitch, Arrowpoint, Ramp Networks, Apogee, Indus River, and Ipivot. Mr. Green holds a B.A. with honors in Management from the Loughborough University, United Kingdom.

  • David Greene

    Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer

    • David Greene has served as our Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer since September 2013. Prior to joining us, Mr. Greene served as Chief Marketing Officer at Riverbed Technology Inc., a wide-area network solutions company from March 2012 to September 2013. From January 2008 to February 2012, he served as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and from July 2006 to December 2007 as Vice President of Enterprise Solutions Marketing at BMC Software Inc., an IT management solutions company. From October 2002 to June 2006, Mr. Greene served as Vice President of Marketing and Professional Services at Active Reasoning, Inc., an IT controls automation software company acquired by Oracle Corp. Mr. Greene holds an A.B. in Architecture and an A.B. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

  • Bill Hoppin

    Vice President of Business Development

    • Bill Hoppin leads business development activity for Aerohive and is responsible for strategic and partner relationships. Prior to joining Aerohive, Mr. Hoppin was VP of sales and business development at Audience, a leading supplier of voice processor chips for the mobile market, where he built and managed sales and support, growing the business from pre-product to $50M in annual revenue in four years and established corporate and strategic partnerships with key mobile ecosystem drivers leveraging Audience authored ITU standards. Prior to that, Mr. Hoppin was VP of Sales & Marketing at Wi-Fi video module supplier Adimos, where he drove numerous strategic design wins, as well as at high-speed interconnect supplier Accelerant Networks, where he re-aligned the product offering, gained key design wins, and supported a successful acquisition by Synopsys. As VP of Sales & Marketing at Celeritek, a leading provider of power amplifiers for mobile terminals, Mr. Hoppin built a 60-person sales team and drove revenues in 2001 to $130 million, supporting a successful IPO and secondary offering. Mr. Hoppin is the author of numerous articles on wireless and data communications. Mr. Hoppin holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

  • Valerie Junger

    Vice President, Human Resources

    • Valerie Junger joins us from Model N, a 600-employee $90M enterprise and Saas software company in the revenue management space. During the three years that Ms. Junger served as Model N VP of People, she helped to ready the company for IPO, created a global HR function and helped to launch leadership and management development programs. Prior to Model N, Ms. Junger was at Space Systems/Loral, a 3,000-employee $1.2B commercial communication satellite manufacturer, where she served as Vice President of Human Resources for a period of two years. Prior to that, she led the Human Resources and Facilities functions for 11 years at Risk Management Solutions (RMS), a software and professional services company providing catastrophic risk models and analytics to insurers, reinsurers, and financial services customers. During her tenure at RMS, the company grew from a non-profitable 150-employee organization to a profitable and professionally-managed global company of 2,000. Ms. Junger earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University and has practiced in the employment litigation area in a small firm in Palo Alto. She has a B.A. in Journalism from San Jose State University.

  • Eyal Kaldes

    Vice President, Client Services & Customer Success

    • Eyal Kaldes has served as our Vice President, Client Services & Customer Success since February 2014. Prior to joining Aerohive, Mr. Kaldes served as Vice President of Worldwide Technical Support at Proofpoint Inc., a leading next-generation security and compliance company, from April 2008 to January 2014. While at Proofpoint, Mr. Kaldes helped ready the company for an IPO, managed worldwide technical support, and built and launched premium enterprise support and training programs. From March 2007 to March 2008, he served as Director of Services for LogLogic (acquired by Tibco). From July 2003 to February 2007, Mr. Kaldes held various positions at Postini, Inc. (acquired by Google) where he built and managed all post-sales enterprise activities, including project management, technical account management, and customer activation. Mr. Kaldes holds a B.S. in E-Business from the University of Phoenix.

  • Michael Lin

    Vice President of Product Management

    • Michael Lin leads product line management at Aerohive. Prior to joining Aerohive, he was VP of Product Management for Mobility at Symantec, where he led the strategy and development of mobile products including Mobile Device Management, Mobile Application Management, Enterprise Secure Synch and Share, and consumer mobile offerings. Before Symantec, Mr. Lin served as an executive in residence at SRI Ventures where he applied his mobile industry expertise to evaluate various venture concepts in the mobile marketplace. Prior to that, he worked for twelve years at VeriSign, which culminated with a position as VP/General Manager, responsible for product, strategy, and overall business performance of the VeriSign SSL business. Mr. Lin holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

  • Changming Liu

    Founder and CTO

    • Changming Liu is one of our co founders and has served as our Chief Technology Officer since January 2007 and as a member of our Board since March 2006. He previously served as our Chief Executive Officer from March 2006 to February 2007. Prior to joining Aerohive, Mr. Liu was a Distinguished Engineer at Juniper Networks, which he joined following its acquisition of NetScreen Technologies in April 2004. Previously, Mr. Liu held other key positions with Nortel Networks and Vistar Telecommunications. Mr. Liu is the author of more than ten networking patents. Mr. Liu holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Tsinghua University in Beijing and an M.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Queen's University, Ontario Canada.

  • Stathis Papaefstathiou

    Senior Vice President of Engineering

    • Stathis Papaefstathiou has been passionate about applying cutting edge technologies to practical problems that eventually lead to products and successful businesses. Mr. Papaefstathiou joined us from F5 Networks where, as Vice President of Product Development, defined the strategy for dynamic data centers, clouds, virtualization and introduced the BIG-IQ management platform and product line. Previously, Mr. Papaefstathiou held a number of technical and senior management positions at Microsoft in the areas of distributed operating systems, data center automation, and robotics. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Warwick, UK, in 1995. He holds numerous patents and has published dozens of scientific papers in journals and at international conferences.

  • John Ritchie

    Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

    • John Ritchie joined us as our Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, in August 2015. Over the last two decades, Mr. Ritchie has run the finance and compliance aspects of several multinational organizations with significant global footprints, most recently at Telerik prior to its acquisition by Progress Software. Mr. Ritchie held the CFO role at several successful publicly traded technology companies in the Silicon Valley, including Ubiquiti Networks - a communications technology company, Electronics For Imaging - a digital imaging and software solutions company, and Splash Technology - a digital imaging company. Mr. Ritchie holds a B.S. in Business Administration from San Jose State University.

  • Tom Wilburn

    Senior Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations

    • Tom Wilburn joins Aerohive from his position as Vice President of Global Enterprise Networking Sales at Cisco. In this position, he was responsible for sales of Cisco’s routing, switching and wireless products. Mr. Wilburn joined Cisco in 2005 with the acquisition of Airespace, where he led worldwide field operations. As part of Cisco, he helped make Airespace one of Cisco’s most successful acquisitions, leading to a $2.5 billion dollar business with greater than 50 percent market share.  Mr. Wilburn also led sales and sales integration of Meraki, defining the go-to-market strategy for the combined Cisco - Meraki portfolio. Mr. Wilburn is a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a BA in economics, and conducted his graduate study at the George Washington University in Sales and Marketing Management.

  • Remo Canessa

    • Remo Canessa has served as a member of our Board since September 2013 and serves as chair of our audit committee and on our compensation committee. Mr. Canessa currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Illumio, Inc., a developer of adaptive security for cloud computing environments. Mr. Canessa previously was the Chief Financial Officer of Infoblox, Inc., an automated network control company, a position he held from October 2004 through January 2016, and continued as an executive advisor to the company through April 2016. Prior to joining Infoblox, Inc., Mr. Canessa served as Chief Financial Officer of NetScreen Technologies, from July 2001 until its acquisition by Juniper Networks in April 2004. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

  • Curt Garner

    • Curt Garner has served as a member of our Board since June 2015 and serves on our audit committee. Mr. Garner currently serves as Chief Information Officer at Chipotle Mexican Grill. Mr. Garner was previously with Starbucks, Inc., which he joined in January of 1998, holding various technology leadership positions prior to his appointment as EVP and CIO in March 2012. Mr. Garner served as Starbuck’s Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer until November 2015, overseeing global technology and engineering services for all Starbucks businesses and serving as a member of Starbucks senior leadership team. Prior to joining Starbucks, Mr. Garner held various technology leadership positions with Wendy’s International, Inc. Mr. Garner holds a B.A. in Economics from The Ohio State University.

  • Frank Marshall

    • Frank Marshall has served as a member of our Board since March 2011, and serves as chair of our nominating and corporate governance committee. Mr. Marshall is also our lead independent director. Mr. Marshall has been a General Partner of Big Basin Partners since October 2000 and also serves as a director and advisor for several privately held companies. He currently serves as a director of MobileIron, Inc., a developer and provider of security and management software and hardware solutions for mobile apps, content and devices, and previously served as a director at PMC-Sierra, Inc., a semiconductor company, and at Juniper Networks. Mr. Marshall holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.

  • John Gordon Payne

    • Gordon Payne has served as a member of our Board since March 2014, and serves on our audit committee. Mr. Payne served as the Chief Operating Officer of DocuSign, Inc., an electronic signature and digital transactions management company, from January 2014 through May 2016. He previously was employed with Citrix Systems, Inc., a virtualization, cloud and mobile solutions company, from December 2005 to January 2014. He holds a B.A. in Commercial and Administrative Studies from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and an M.B.A. from IMD, Lausanne Switzerland.

  • Conway 'Todd' Rulon-Miller

    • Conway ‘Todd’ Rulon-Miller has served as a member of our Board since May 2009, and serves on our compensation committee. Mr. Rulon-Miller has been a partner of Apogee Venture Group, an early stage venture investment and consulting firm he founded, since January 1998, and also has served as a director and advisor for several privately held companies. He holds a B.A. in History from Princeton University.

  • Christopher J. Schaepe

    • Christopher J. Schaepe has served as a member of our Board since July 2006, and serves as chair of our compensation committee and as a member of our nominating and corporate governance committee. Mr. Schaepe is a founding partner of Lightspeed Venture Partners, an early-stage technology venture capital firm, and has served in that capacity since 2000. He currently serves as a director of Riverbed Technology, Inc., an application and network performance company, and previously served as a director of eHealth, Inc., an online health insurance services company, and of Fusion-io, Inc., a computer hardware and software systems company. Mr. Schaepe holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
