Aerohive Networks Adds Enterprise Wi-Fi Innovator to Board of Advisors
Sunnyvale, Calif. — November 1, 2011 — Aerohive Networks, the pioneer in controller-less Wi-Fi and cloud-enabled networking, today announced that it has added Wi-Fi industry expert, Joe Epstein, co-founder of Meru Networks, to its Advisory Board. Joe is currently CEO of stealth-mode security startup Virtuata.
- In 2002, Mr. Epstein co-founded Meru Networks (NASDAQ:MERU), directing company vision, technology, strategy and marketing and guiding it to a successful IPO in March 2010.
- He directed the company’s product and marketing strategy through multiple stages of rapid growth that earned industry awards and analyst recognition, after establishing the company’s ground-breaking 802.11-based technology as chief architect.
- Mr. Epstein is a respected leader, innovator and author in the networking space, including the wireless and security fields, and is a frequently requested speaker and panelist for industry events. He is the author of the book Scalable VoIP Mobility: Integration and Deployment, available from Elsevier, and holder of multiple patents. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
