Mission-Critical Networking
Today, more enterprises are using their wireless LAN in mission critical deployments. Whether it is in specific verticals such as healthcare or retail or whether the wireless LAN is being asked to support real-time applications such as voice over wireless LAN. The wireless network needs to have the correct characteristics to support a particular application or the entire business, such as low latency and jitter for real-time applications or the availability and resiliency to support all of the applications running on the network. The wireless LAN also needs to be scalable to the point where the addition of new applications requires little or no network changes and can easily grow to accommodate an increase in the number of users.
Aerohive Networks cooperative control architecture was designed with mission-critical applications in mind and results in a wireless LAN infrastructure that is secure, highly available, low latency and has sophisticated quality-of-service (QoS) capabilities. Aerohive Networks unique stateful high availability, mesh redundancy, and subsecond stateful failover ensure that the network is always up without the need for deploying a redundant infrastructure. The distributed intelligence and best-path forwarding that the architecture provides ensures the data path is always optimized for the lowest latency. Aerohive Networks cooperative control architecture includes powerful and flexible user-based policy control enforced at the edge of the network, in the HiveAPs, where it is needed. User profiles can be statically or dynamically assigned and include security, QoS, and access policies. As more HiveAPs are added to the hive, coverage, reliability, and backhaul bandwidth of the wireless network increases, ensuring the WLAN is always ready to support new or evolving business requirements.
