Aerohive Challenges the Access Networking Market Status Quo by Introducing Two Unique Management Capabilities
While Others Settle for Extreme Acquisitions, Aerohive Continues Momentum of Extreme Innovation
Milpitas, Calif. — September 7, 2017 — Aerohive Networks® (NYSE:HIVE), Innovator of Cloud Networking Management and Services, today reaffirmed its historical place in developing and delivering disruptive technology for the Access Networking Market by announcing two new and innovative management capabilities.
Aerohive was built on a history of developing disruptive innovation and fueling the industry with several notable firsts, such as: distributed control and data planes that eliminated the need for costly and scale-prohibiting wireless LAN controllers; cloud-managed “unified policy” for access points, switches, and routers; Private Pre-Shared Key (PPSK) authentication to deliver simple and secure BYOD and IoT connectivity without the complexity of 802.1X or certificates; a Bonjour Gateway that extended Bonjour services across VLANs with a single click; and the industry’s only cohesive and consistent public and private cloud-managed SD-LAN solution.
In keeping with this tradition, Aerohive’s new HiveManager® NG release radically simplifies the ability for IT personnel to implement policy exceptions at scale. Aerohive has gone beyond the template-constrained efforts of rivals to simply and easily allow administrators to create customized settings for one or any number of devices within a single unified policy. This ability to create policy overrides at scale is unique to Aerohive.
Aerohive has also introduced a unique way to enable network access management for organizations who want to logically separate devices and policies without dealing with the hurdles of separating licenses and service entitlements. Aerohive customers and partners can use Hierarchical HiveManager (HHM) to create organizations within a single HiveManager NG instance that allow not only grouping of devices and policies, but also role-based access control that limits access to only that organization. An administrator of the HiveManager NG instance can pool licenses across any number of organizations to offer the most flexible management and entitlement capabilities in the market. This “organizational” management concept is unique to Aerohive.
