Aerohive® First to Answer Customers’ Age-Old Question: How Am I Doing Compared to Others?

Innovative Comparative Analytics Capability Will Allow Customers to Anonymously Compare Infrastructure and Client Metrics Against Similar-Sized Deployments and/or Industries

Milpitas, Calif. — November 16, 2017 — Aerohive Networks® (NYSE:HIVE), a Cloud Networking Leader, today announced Cloud-based Comparative Analytics for enterprise access networks. As the capability is built out, customers will be able to anonymously and dynamically compare infrastructure and client metrics to similar-sized deployments and/or industries to help them proactively determine if and where to focus corrective or optimization efforts.

Quantifying and qualifying the operational effectiveness of the access point of an enterprise network has always been problematic because of variable usage and demand by users, compounded by the remoteness from IT resources. Using the power of the Cloud, Aerohive’s new, totally anonymous Comparative Analytics capability will allow IT professionals to accurately compare key infrastructure and client metrics, at first dynamically and within a few months over time. Finally, Aerohive’s Comparative Analytics capability will answer the age-old customer question of how to compare operating effectiveness to others of similar size and similar industries, as well as whether the metrics are getting better or worse over time.

Currently being rolled out across Aerohive’s global Cloud footprint, Aerohive’s new comparative analytics capability will be continuously enhanced throughout 2018. Initially focused on key Wi-Fi metrics, such as bandwidth usage, number of unique clients, and number of unique clients with poor health, additional Comparative Analytics metrics to be added are:

  • Wi-Fi – connection success
  • Wi-Fi – average RSSI
  • Wi-Fi – average uptime
  • SD-WAN – average uptime
  • SD-WAN – latency
  • SD-WAN – throughput
  • SD-WAN – packet loss
  • Switching – average uptime
  • Switching – bandwidth percentage
  • Switching – total bandwidth usage
  • Switching – populated vs unpopulated ports
  • IoT – device population profiling

The Comparative Analytics capability is highly beneficial for any organization, regardless of industry or size, and for any channel partners or managed service providers (MSPs) that support them. Driven by increased data intelligence and insights, MSPs and Aerohive channel partners are able to deliver proactive network performance management for increased value-add and services, offering stickiness and, ultimately, stronger customer relationships.
